We found an exciting way for our first grade students of secondary school to practise listening and learn English by using the website 'Lyrics Training'. It is a great website which can help students learn English by listening to music videos. It is lots of fun and really easy to use. We used this website with our first year students of secondary school. Some songs that students of this age usually like were selected (such as 'Let Her Go' by Passenger and 'A Sky Full Of Stars by Coldplay) and they were asked to complete the words missing so as to practise their listening skills and learn the right pronunciation of the words. Students participated willingly and entertained themselves! What makes 'Lyrics Training' ideal for English language learning and teaching is the fact that it is very engaging. What's more, the authentic material used makes it even greater for students.
