The previous week we used a Web 2.0 tool, called Padlet and we worked on a project regarding hobbies and sports young people like. Padlet is a collaborative tool, ideal to be used with students. It is a web-based means of collating ideas and collaborating online. More specifically, it is a blank page where students can do a variety of activities. They can drag and drop images and documents from their device. They can copy and paste links to websites or videos. They also have the option to type a post by double clicking on it.
After having completed the unit of our coursebook regarding entertainment our first grade students of secondary school worked in groups on a project about hobbies, sports and activities that young people of their age enjoy. Before starting working on the project a relevant video was presented to the students so as to brainstorm ideas about the particular topic. This way students got some ideas of what they could include in their project. Working on Padlet helped students practise their writing skills and become more creative and motivated.
