Our students got involved in an exciting project which facilitated communication and collaboration between them and their peers in various European schools. Our fourth graders were asked to create a Keynote presentation, describing themselves and outlining who they are and what they are interested in. They also included photos of their favourite sports, hobbies and leisure activities and drew their portrait. Now that our presentations are ready, they will be sent to our peers in Portugal and Spain, and we are eager to receive theirs in order to get to know them better. The aim of our project is to develop an intercultural understanding in our students and foster a sense of belonging. The most meaningful way to connect with others is through sharing our identities in our global language, English. In this way, students develop appreciation and approach difference with interest rather than judgment.
