Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is an approach that involves learning subjects such as biology, geography or others, through an additional language. It can be very successful in enhancing the learning of languages and other subjects, and developing in the youngsters a positive 'can do' attitude towards themselves as language learners.

Our first grade students of Secondary school analysed the cell structure of plants, animals and bacteria using iCell app. Particularly, our students used the above mentioned application on their iPads to explore the different parts of the cells and learn about the way they work.

Through this lesson, our students were given the opportunity to gain some knowledge regarding the cell structure in English, a topic they had already been taught during their Biology classes. Our students enjoyed learning the English terminology of the cell structure and look forward to our next project.
