Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is dual-focused education where attention is given to the topic as well as the language. The fact that importance is given to the topic and the language gives a more integrated methodology of learning and teaching, drawing attention to the educational process as a whole opposed to just how languages should be taught. Considering the above mentioned methodology of vital importance for our school and students, we have incorporated CLIL in our school curriculum. Our young learners are involved in interesting and meaningful activities while using the language. When the students are engaged and interested in the topic, they are more motivated to use and learn the language needed to communicate.

A series of activities were prepared for each class (1st, 2nd, 3rd graders) of primary school according to their level and needs. Particularly, our first graders worked on a project regarding food. They had the chance to become familiar with different kinds of healthy and unhealthy food, with fruit and vegetables as well as their colours. They coloured some colouring pages, listened to relevant songs and watched exciting videos. They also played games and had a lot of fun while dancing and singing. Our second graders worked on a project regarding emotions. They learned all the different kinds of feelings by watching relevant videos and miming. They drew different faces according to their mood and they learnt that we should respect other people's feelings. Our third graders worked on a project about sports and activities. They learnt about the history of the Olympic Games and coloured the Olympic Rings. They also played interactive games on the IWB and had a lot of fun singing songs relevant to sports. 

Through the interactive and co-operative nature of work, CLIL helps our young learners boost self-confidence, raise self-esteem, build their independence and teach them organizational skills. This way students are given the opportunity to practise both their productive and receptive skills.
