Creating projects in class is always a pleasant "interval" during the learning process. In the specific case the fifth graders have been working on the civilization and life of Ancient Egypt.
First the students were shown some short videos about Ancient Egypt. They were provided with significant information about life then, they were shown the interior of pyramids and generally managed to travel through time. The students were informed about the their food, clothes, and lifestyle. Moreover they learned about the hyrogliphics, the reasons of creating their pyramids and of course their inventions.
During the creation of this project the students had the chance to communicate in a meaningful way with their classmates especially when they had to analyze what they had seen on the videos. What's more, the children demonstrated their capabilities of working in groups and later created projects on their iPads using already acquired knowledge.
Finally, a 3D printed Sphinx, a mummy and the Lighthouse of Alexandria were used as models in some of the students' projects.
