'We only have one Earth, so we have to take care of her'.
Senator Gaylord Nelson.
Our children are the future. It's our responsibility to teach kids what they need to know to save this planet, not only for themselves and their children, but for many generations to come.
Earth Day, which was established in 1970 in the USA, is celebrated on 22nd April each year. It is a day to think what we can do to keep it special; to think about saving water and energy, reducing pollution, recycling, protecting our animals, trees and plants, and generally getting kids interested in protecting their environment.
Young learners can get a feel for what Earth Day is all about by singing songs, colouring pages and making crafts. Our first and second graders of primary school sang many different songs relevant to the Earth Day and coloured in some colouring pages with messages such as 'Look after the Earth' and 'It's our home- Let's look after it well!'. The Earth was also 3D printed in our 3D printer and the students were told that the Earth is around 70% water and 30% land.
